Wondering about FIFA 23’s calling card? It’s quite simply the enhanced use of EA’s HyperMotion technology. Yes, this is the last year the game will be called “FIFA,” but many players are more interested in the experience. Once they start, you’ll get more than the title’s name. That said, here are the good, the bad, and the gist of FIFA 23.
The GOOD
acquired taste and appreciation
During the first 5-10 minutes of playing FIFA 23, many users will miss the impact of HyperMotion 2, but the more I played, the more I appreciated the engine improvements. Machine Learning – A large part of what makes HyperMotion such a potentially compelling piece of technology in all sports games still has its limitations. There are still some strange cases where the animations don’t fit the situation. However, when it works, and there’s a pitch environment that’s been accurately captured, it makes for some excellent sequences with nice gameplay. HyperMotion is an iteration or two away from being the groundbreaking technology it already claims to be, but it’s still a distinct advantage in the gaming experience.
Ball Control
This was a problem for me in previous FIFA games. I’m far from an expert, but there’s something about the tools this year’s game offers that made it a little easier to pick up and understand. Accelerated movements divided into cool, explosive, and long animations manifest as excellent tools for higher-level play and offensive control. Guarding the ball against defenders feels more natural in FIFA 23.
Authentic women’s games
EA has to be commended for embracing women’s games, clubs, and stars like Sam Kerr, who joined Kylian Mbappe as a cover man. Taking things to the next level, EA capped the women’s games to ensure there are almost as many examples of authentic women’s action as you’ll see in the men’s games. There’s also the Women’s World Cup and the men’s version of the event, adding more value to the overall package.
Presentation is fantastic
Big games in the EPL, La Liga, and other big leagues look and feel exceptional. They offer a TV-style presentation that enhances career mode. Their playing seasons all have fixations with player and managerial personalities. FIFA still does an excellent job of bringing some life to the experience, with an animated news ticker in the mode’s main menu and enough quests to engage you in your team’s journey and virtual football world.
Playable Highlights
At first, I didn’t think I would like the option to only play highlights in a career mode. However, FIFA’s response to Madden’s Play the Moments and MLB The Shows Critical Situations works very well in world football. It’s not how I would play for a whole pro experience, but it’s a great way to shake things up.
Crossplay
Crossplay is included in FIFA 23. Although only available on same-gen platforms, it bridges the gap between powerful gaming consoles. Crossplay is available in the following modes: FUT Division Rivals (excluding co-op), FUT Champions, FUT Ultimate Online Draft, FUT Online Friendlies (excluding co-op), FUT Play a Friend, Online Friendlies, Online Seasons (excluding co-op). Op Seasons) and the virtual Bundesliga. Diversity, although it still falls short in some areas.
VOLTA is awesome
One of my favorite modes in FIFA, if not my favorite, is VOLTA. EA has revealed a limited but promising mode in FIFA 22. With more arcade-style play and more depth in concept, VOLTA is one of the fastest yet most rewarding ways to play FIFA. Open-world notions aside, it does as good a job as any other sports title in its attempts to add a park-style NBA 2K environment to its simulation. Experience. Combining VOLTA and Pro Clubs on one ride or more emerges as a cohesive fusion of previously independent modes. The quest for XP won’t tire or bore you, and the street action provides another type of entertainment. I recommend players who don’t like traditional FIFA gameplay try this brand of VOLTA.
FUT Is Bigger Than Ever
The two most significant additions to Ultimate Team this year are FUT Moments, earning tangible rewards as you play through historical moments from the careers of Jurgen Klopp and Mbappe. FIFA has followed the lead of MLB The Show’s Diamond Dynasty, which has long used its collector mode to tell stories about historic moments in baseball. The search for the best cards and rewards. The other essential add-on is pursuing a higher chemical rating for your racquet. Number 33 is the target, as it may take some time to fully understand FIFA’s in-game chemistry metric. However, this year it helps. The FUT version achieves what every collector mode should strive for, adding a bit of intrigue and challenge to the primary goal of building a solid fantasy roster.
The BAD
Tired of combining Career Mode and Franchise Mode
I think this will be the correct time for FIFA to stop turning their Career Mode into an all-in-one franchise experience. The two concepts are not identical. Because FIFA doesn’t have that. Since there is no traditional franchise mode, you can’t run an entire league like you can in almost every other sports video game. This omission feels like a philosophical understatement of a traditional sports game concept, but it’s a negative point, in my opinion.
Visually disappointing
FIFA 23 isn’t an eyesore, but I’m not sure it qualifies as one of the best-looking esports. Games in the market. Given the money generated from it and the game’s widespread appeal, improving graphics is a realistic expectation. Unfortunately, you probably won’t notice a massive difference in the look of this game compared to the previous two entries in the series.
Conclusion
There are fewer complaints about FIFA 23 than last year’s game, but I wasn’t surprised by the advancements in various features, such as the career/franchise mode or the graphics. While it’s technically a better game than FIFA 22, it doesn’t seem like it for those who do not invest most of their time playing FUT or VOLTA. Color me satisfied but not overwhelmed.
